Iagar Fort is one of the many ruins littering the Gardbury Downs. Situated atop a large hill South and West of the King’s Road, it is off the beaten path, but still only a few hours walk from the main thoroughfare in the Nentir Vale.
The ruins, comprised of some crumbling walls, and a still intact network of cellars has recently been inhabited by an anonymous group of bandits who have been robbing travelers along the King’s Road. The cellars were once used as cold storage for foodstuffs, as well as a source of drinking water for the old fort, as a deep well can be found which still provides clean, fresh water to the current inhabitants.
The old stone walls, floor, and ceiling are still in good condition, though part of the complex has collapsed, closing off access to one of the old chambers. Water seeps from above in some areas, and forms shallow pools of stagnant water, lending a musty smell to the damp, dark chambers.
